My art is borne out of my struggle to absorb, comprehend, and understand the natural world. I&rsquo;m overwhelmed, and yet I can&rsquo;t tear myself away. And so I paint, so as to stand there for just a little longer. And then I return to the studio and paint something bigger, in order to digest what I&rsquo;ve experienced while painting in the field. And then I take that frightening step: I invite the viewer to add his or her own story to it. At the sight of a beautiful sunset we instinctively turn to the person next to us, be it friend or stranger, to see if they are looking too. And if they are, we feel a kinship with them. No two people experience a sunset in the same way, and yet we can experience it together. Though painting is largely a solitary endeavor, it is never a lonely one, because I am invited to share in the ineffable mystery of beauty. And that is where the art is. Briefly, I am an artist, writer, actor, husband, and father of three wonderful boys. It all gets mixed up until the distinctions are blurred, as they should be. The heart of my work is in the outdoors, absorbing the pattern of light on the landscape. Actors speak of "being in the moment" immersing themselves so totally in story that everything else falls away. The open air is my stage, and in the best moments, I am lost in it. I have no desire to impress you with these paintings. Rather, I strive to share my experience with honesty and without fear.&nbsp;

Adrienne Stein is an award winning American artist living and working in Pennsylvania and Colorado. She holds an MFA from Boston University and a BFA Magna Cum Laude, from Laguna College of Art &amp; Design. Adrienne studied under many gifted and influential instructors throughout the United States, France, and Italy.
Her paintings celebrate the natural world through bold, vibrant color. The lush magical environments and figures she depicts form the nexus between reality and fantasy, expressed through a world of symbolic imagery. Direct observation of nature coalesces with memory, imagination, art history, folklore, archetypes, and natural elements that are fueled by a sense of personal as well as universal myth. Adrienne Stein

Aldo Balding was born and raised in the United Kingdom and currently lives in the South of France. He started off his career as an illustrator before moving to France to become a full-time artist. He is represented by a number of galleries around the world, &nbsp;such as the United Kingdom, United States of America, France and South Africa.
There is a narrative element to Balding&rsquo;s work in which he sets up scenarios, with no specific outcome, leaving it up to the viewer to determine what is going on. He believes that the way a person holds their body can say more about their feelings and intentions, than words. His subtle use of space distortion creates a sense that something is amiss or is about to happen. Similar talents were shown by the great black and white movie filmmakers (like Hitchcock) and there is a sense that many of his pictures could be stills from a movie. Balding considers himself a storyteller, he takes an idea and moulds it to his liking; furthermore, the colours, the figures, the scenery are all adjusted for the viewer based on what he wants them to see.
Living in the South of France, he likes to paint in direct sunlight. He prefers to be &ldquo;stingy&rdquo; in colour tones, using no more than five or six at any one time. The work normally has a predominant tone or key to it, usually in the mid or dark range. This means that more than 50 percent of the canvas is occupied by one or two closely related tones; this method has been used by great artists such as, Sargent, Sorolla, Zorn and Munnings. Balding considers himself a tonalist painter, though colour is another tool he likes to employ to influence mood. He looks for colour harmonies that already exist in the subject. He squints a lot when painting and this helps him to simplify everything, see things within a hierarchy- the sharpest edge, the lightest part, the order of things that he is searching for. His inspiration, ideas and subject matter can originate from something he has seen- a man in a caf&eacute;, a woman crossing a street; or it can be an idea he has set up, where he has used a model, wearing something from his collection of clothes ranging from the 1940&rsquo;s to the present day. The models act out an idea in his studio or on location rather than pose formally, which he then photographs during the ideas stage. He works quickly spending almost as much time on the set-up and ideas as the painting itself. A mid-sized painting normally takes between 2 to 3 days in an &lsquo;alla prima&rsquo; style as he tries to work sections at a time to keep the &lsquo;wet-in-wet&rsquo; technique.

Brian Sindler was born in Chicago in 1957. He received a bachelor of arts from Columbia College in Columbia, Missouri. Working as a musician for years, he did not take up art until he was into his thirties.
Sindler began classes at the American Academy of Art in Chicago in 1996. From 1997 through 2001, he was enrolled at the School of Representational Art, a French-style atelier in Chicago.
After graduation, he turned his attention to landscape painting, especially plein air painting. Much of his earlier work was impressionistic in style and clearly influenced by Monet and other French impressionistic masters with a focus on lighting and color. Many of his early landscape paintings were executed in and around his home in the North Shore of Chicago.
In 2004-2005, while pursuing new opportunities for artistic experimentation and growth, Brian entered into what would be considered a more tonalistic phase of his career. Whether in the studio or plein air, his work became more characterized by the use of subdued palette, the flattening of the pictorial space and a thinner paint application with broad bands of color. Going forward Brian has become very comfortable taking liberties with both form and color.
From 2012 to current, Brian has produced an amazing body of paintings that are clearly influenced by the American Tonalistic movement of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. This work is somewhat more painterly and less abstract, although the forms are still highly simplified. In these paintings, formal considerations take a back seat to contrasting tonalities and color harmonies. The effect is both poetic and sublime.
Brian Sindler has exhibited widely in individual and group shows. In addition to gallery exhibitions, he has been a regular exhibitor at the Salmagundi Club in New York, the Plein Air Festival in Door County, Wisconsin, and the Cedarburg Plein Air Competition. He has been awarded numerous prizes in these competitions.

As a contemporary impressionist painter and lifelong nature enthusiast, Christine Lashley gathers most of her ideas by painting outdoors. The art she creates on location or in the studio is about the beauty of a moment held in memory. Her paintings often fuse reality and the abstract, using color and texture to look realistic from afar but dissolve into abstraction up close.
Christine has been involved in the arts all her life, with early years sketching outdoors and watching her mother and grandmother create sculpture. She spent several years in the high fashion world of Europe, and then worked in graphic design and creating murals. She began painting professionally with watercolors but moved to oils in 2009. Her work has won numerous awards, including Best of Show for both landscape and portrait work. Recent awards were the ARC Salon (Plein Air), Bold Brush Award (June 2020), Best Landscape at the 27th Oil Painters of America National Show, and Best of Show at Telluride Plein Air and Bath County Plein Air. Christine's work has been featured in many articles, publications and media, including two art-instruction DVDs released by Liliedahl, and the cover of Plein Air Magazine.
With a BFA from Washington University in St. Louis and prior study at the Sorbonne and Parsons in Paris; Christine continued her art education with workshops from prominent artists including Scott Christensen, with whom she is currently doing an online Beyond the Easel Webinar project (a series of interactive artistic conversations).
Christine has taught US and international workshops for over 20 years and is a Signature Member of: Oil Painters of America (OPA), Plein Air Painters of the Southeast (PAP-SE), Salmagundi NYC, and the Washington Society of Landscape Painters.

Unique to my process is the use of raw clay as the primary textural element. The organic nature of clay and the way it cracks as it dries brings a vitality to the surface that I find to be more rich than that of synthetics. I use a bold and expressive painting style to compliment this natural energy from the clay.&nbsp;

In my work I have chosen to build upon the historical tradition of representational fine art. With a background in commercial art, I&rsquo;ve taken influence from many of the golden-age illustrators as well as from classical realism and impressionism. I believe that beauty is of great importance to the human soul and that God uses the beauty of his creation to communicate with humanity. If art is a vehicle for this communication, then my role as an artist is truly humbling.
I grew up in a small town in eastern New Mexico which provided little exposure to the world of art, galleries or museums. None of my family members or friends worked in the arts although my father&rsquo;s aptitude as an accomplished guitarist and woodcarver was certainly an influence.
Childhood found me drawing cartoon characters and the like. But it wasn&rsquo;t until high school, after a family move to Colorado, that one of my teachers encouraged me to further explore illustration in an art class. A drawing I did in the class received first place in a national high school art competition. As a result, I focused on commercial art for my studies at Pensacola Christian College in Florida.
After graduation and a few years of graphic design work, I discovered Cottonwood Art Academy in Colorado Springs where I first met artists who were making their livings painting for galleries. I was invited to join the teaching faculty at Cottonwood as their youngest instructor. Pursuing a career in fine art then became my goal and I was able to begin painting full time in 2005.
I have been honored to receive national recognition for my paintings of figures in the landscape, plein air landscape and portraiture. Southwest Art magazine published a feature article about my work in its July, 2020 issue. I received the First Place award in the 10th Annual American Impressionist Society National Show and have also received awards from the Oil Painters of America, the California Art Club, the Art Renewal Center, the Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters, the Portrait Society of America and Fine Art Connoisseur magazine.
With the help and support of my wife Sarah and sons Ian and Tobin, I maintain a storefront gallery in downtown Ojai, California. I continue to explore the special connection that art can provide between the Creator of the universe, the beauty of our world and the human soul.

Daniel J. Keys was born on Oct. 7th 1985, in Fresno CA.
Upon noticing a glimpse of artistic talent in him at an early age, Daniel was encouraged by his parents to pursue his passion, namely painting; and being entirely home educated, time was very permitting for him to develop his skill as a self taught artist.
&nbsp;He started painting at the age of eleven using a paint set purchased with birthday money. It was later during his impressionable teenage years that Daniel discovered the work of Richard Schmid: a master artist whose works he later began emulating in his own paintings. Since that time Daniel has had opportunity to paint with his mentor, and Mr. Schmid has become a sort of art adviser to him throughout their close friendship.
&nbsp;Daniel's work is now highly sought after by discerning collectors and hangs in many prominent collections throughout North America, Europe, and Russia. In addition to his art, he also teaches workshops that often draw students from around the world who seek out his esteemed instruction. He has won numerous awards including the Portrait Society of America&rsquo;s &ldquo;Draper Grand Prize 2018&rdquo; award, and his work has graced the covers of multiple magazines including Art of the West (twice), American Artist, American Art Collector, Plein Air Magazine, and the premier European art publication, Pratique des Arts.

Esther Hi&rsquo;ilani Candari is a mixed race artist and educator from Hawai&rsquo;i. She has an BFA from BYU-H, an MFA from Liberty University, and studied at the New York Academy of Art.&nbsp;
Her work is primarily figurative and explores concepts such as; multiracial identity; gender and the female gaze in the context of religion; and the nuance of human psychology that can be expressed through portraiture. I'm a painter currently living in Los Angeles. &nbsp;My work is defined by technique in application and dynamic color stories, usually with a focus on organic subjects such as animals.&nbsp; &nbsp;
My paintings are layers of independent shapes, stacked with precision to imply light, texture, and form. &nbsp; Careful color shifts and loud punches of contrasting hues result in harmony and vibration. &nbsp;Acrylic paint is my preferred medium, and I choose to create work on wooden surfaces, as the smoothness best lends itself to the clean and precise marks that evolve into my visual geometry. &nbsp;My paintings are designed to exist carefully between mechanical and fluid, representational and abstracted.
The subjects I choose to paint provide me with an opportunity to find unique ways to present things that are more or less familiar. &nbsp;I like exploring visual concepts of wetness, softness, and hardness without being too caught up in realism-- using somewhat relatable subject matter, such as rare birds or animal eyes, gives me more freedom to play with technique.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Though I'm originally from Ohio, I currently live and create in Highland Park, CA. &nbsp;I've got a rescue rabbit that lives in my studio and watches me paint, and my time outside of work is spent cooking, making cocktails, and exploring the city.&nbsp;

Jane Anne was born and raised in North Ogden, Utah to artistic parents who instilled in their children a love of, and appreciation for, the beauty of nature. She grew up drawing horses and flowers and found her creative voice studying design at Brigham Young University where she earned her degree. She has now combined her love of nature and design sense with her landscape paintings. &nbsp;She and her husband live in American Fork, Utah, and are the parents of four children and 12 grandchildren.

Jared Brady b. 1998, who currently resides in Colorado, is a representational artist working mainly in oils. After being introduced to oil painting and the representational art world at age 16 by artist Ken Shanika, Jared has since dedicated his time to honing his craft. Jeff Hein was born in New Windsor, New York in 1974. He began studying drawing at Ricks College in 1992 under Gerald Griffin. In 1997, after a 4 years off to serve a mission and battle cancer, Hein resumed his studies in painting and drawing at Salt Lake Community College under Rick Graham and Rob Adamson. &nbsp;From 1998-2002 Jeff attended the University of Utah where he also studied painting and drawing. Hein began a full time painting career in 2002. From 2008 to late 2010 Hein took a 2.5 year sabbatical to devote to personal study and exploration of naturalist painting techniques. Hein has also taken workshops from renowned artists including Steven Assael.
 Hein has been written up in numerous magazines and newspapers including &ldquo;American Art collector&rdquo;, &ldquo;Fine Art Connoisseur&rdquo;, &ldquo;Arts and Antiques&rdquo; and &ldquo;Jetset Magazine&rdquo;. His work has appeared on the covers of &ldquo;American Art collector&rdquo;, &ldquo;Art Calendar&rdquo; and two years of the annual Spring Salon Catalog of the Springville Museum of Art (SMOA). His work has also been shown in prestigious locations such as the Utah Museum of Fine Art, The SMOA and the Salmagundi Club in NY. Hein strongly values handmade things, in other words, thing made without the aid of machines. He feels that art can tell a story about the life of its creator, and his subjects, especially if that artist&rsquo;s process involves a pure and intimate relationship with his subject matter. &nbsp;Hein works only from life or imagination in his paintings. He sees each painting as a personal record of his experience with his subject, whether that be a person, animal, landscape or just his imagination. To him a painting or sculpture should be more than just a beautiful object. It should be the product of the artist&rsquo;s experience. Each piece of art should carry a piece of the artist&rsquo;s, and subjects&rsquo;, history by embodying the events that led to its creation.&nbsp;

Jeremy Duncan has spent his life in Northern California surrounded by the varying landscapes that inspire him and his work.&nbsp;
Since his early youth, Jeremy has had an eagerness to express nature honestly in his artwork. &nbsp;This desire to make good art stayed with him throughout his life until his choice to pursue art as a career led him to eastern Idaho where he studied at Brigham Young University Idaho and learned the importance of fundamental drawing skills, the importance of communication, and the exercise of art elements and design principles to clearly convey artistic representation. &nbsp;His exposure to the work of renowned artists like Carl Rungius, Edgar Payne, Nicholai Fechin, John Carlson, and John Singer Sargent led him to a practice of painting from life ("en plein air") for reference.&nbsp;&nbsp;
After graduation, having received an art degree, Jeremy re-located to his native Northern California. &nbsp;Today Jeremy lives and paints in Amador County and pursues a living as a fine artist.&nbsp;

Justin Kunz is a figurative painter, illustrator, concept artist, and educator. His artwork has been exhibited in museums and galleries; published in books, magazines, calendars, web sites and annual reports. Kunz has provided key visual concepts for video games, coins and medals, and even an award-winning film, Nine Days. As a Senior Artist at Blizzard Entertainment, he created concept artwork, 3D assets, textures and effects for the environments in World of Warcraft, as well as early concept artwork for Overwatch. As an original member of the Artistic Infusion Program, he has created dozens of numismatic designs including at least 18 coins and medals produced by the United States Mint in gold, silver, platinum,&nbsp;bronze and nickel. Currently an Associate Professor of Illustration at Brigham Young University, Kunz lives with his wife and children in the foothills of Mt. Timpanogos, Utah.&nbsp;

Kai Lun Qu b.1995 is a professional artist and instructor based in San Jose, California.
He is a recipient of the Certificate of Excellence for his painting Ashton in the 20th Annual International Portrait Society of America Competition. Kai has had his work exhibited in museums and galleries throughout the US. His work has also been included and published by Poets Artist Magazine and Plein Air Magazine. In 2018, Kai was featured in Southwest Art Magazine's 21 under 31 Article, where he was one of 21 artists under the age of 31 being celebrated as rising art stars from across the West and around the country.

I've been painting for about Thirty years, My career started in the printing industry, a great introduction to mixing colours before a number of years as an ideas man and illustrator in the advertising industry. My passion was always painting, in the beginning it was landscapes and seascapes then a move to Europe inspired me to paint streetscapes and portraits and now I just love to paint just about anything. What really excites me is the way light effects the subject.&nbsp;

Hi, I am Nicole Parish - an autistic artist with an intense love for insects.&nbsp;
Ever since I was little, I&rsquo;ve had a fascination with the natural world. Much of my time was spent outdoors playing in the dirt and looking for insects. My mother would read A Girl Of The Limberlost aloud to me as I drew and painted, which introduced me to entomology and raising insects. I then grew up taking care of praying mantises, beetles, butterflies, and moths, along with other creatures like snails and spiders. Saving the insects I found and cared for, I learned how to preserve them once they passed. My collection grew and soon became the subject for my art.&nbsp;
During my art apprenticeship with Casey Childs, I had the assignment to do a still life painting. I had a hard time finding anything I found interesting to paint, but I did have an Ecuadorian cicada that my father gave to me. I absolutely loved being able to capture the beauty and information I saw and started using more of my collection as reference.&nbsp;
I like to paint the information I see as accurately as possible so the insects are painted to scale. I mount the insect on a piece of colored paper and place it next to the canvas to reference for the painting

Nicole Parish

Born in Odessa, Ukraine, Olga Krimon received academic art education in Kazan, Russia. Growing up she was (and still is) largely influenced by Repin, Serov, Brullov, Levitan, Kramskoy, Fechin and other Russian titans. She then discovered Sargent, Zorn, Sorolla and Cecilia Beaux, and to this day she examines the movement, the bold brushstrokes and the value arrangements in their pieces.
 She continued to grow and develop her skills later in America, through drawing classes with Glen Orbik and painting classes with Jeremy Lipking. Olga also holds a BA in Art History, and she credits it with providing her the rich visual vocabulary that is instrumental for defining her path as an artist. She also later received an MBA, making her well-grounded in the business side of an artistic career.
 Olga continues to refine her craft through independent studies and daily practice. Over time, she developed her own style grounded in fundamental principles of academic realism, sensitivity to subtle value and color transitions, and yet bold energy of movement and expressive brushstrokes. Olga&rsquo;s Figurative and Still Life Paintings are recognized by the Portrait Society of America PSoA (International Competition 1st Place Drawing 2016 and 3rd Honor Award 2014, Certificates of Excellence 2011, 2015 and 2018, Members Only 3rd Merit 2015 and Honorable Mention 2014) and American Art Collector Award of Excellence, Oil Painters of America (OPA) Western Regional Competition 2014. She is also a finalist in 2015 and 2016 Art Renewal Center (ARC) International Salon Competition.

Peter Keegan is a professional artist living and working in Buckinghamshire, UK, specialising in portraiture. Trained at Cardiff School of Art and working in oils, Peter follows traditional techniques but uses them in a way to depict the people he meets in a modern and original style. His aim in portraiture is to always create a painting or drawing that reflects the subject's likeness and personality, as well as capturing those special elements which make the subject truly "them". Peter also paints and exhibits figure paintings, local landscape and still life paintings.

Philip describes his work as a step towards abstraction. It is primarily the exploration of light and the relationship of colour, where he at first captures his images with a camera and then translates them into a painted format. He is interested in the concept of capturing &ldquo;the moment&rdquo;, a millisecond in time when everything lines up perfectly. His paintings seek to explore and demonstrate this, rather like a wonderfully composed climax of a symphony, a perfect marriage. His paintings also give us a glimpse in time where form, light and colour come together in all their complexity.&nbsp;
Philip has a deep appreciation and love for the power and science of colour. Careful tonal shifts and subtlety characterize his work and the blurred image enabled by the camera lens creates new but familiar understandings of form and the relationship between people and place.
He is fascinated with the common notion that everything is random when there can be no question that there is design in everything. His is a philosophy of harmony, where even in the grit and grime of a city there is immense beauty to be discovered. A beauty that lies between the imperceptible and the unknown.
Philip currently lives and paints in Riebeek West, near Cape Town. He is married and has two children, two dogs and six chickens.

"Realism and abstract-it's all the same to me. The real essence of painting is the dialogue between shapes, tones, colors, textures, edges, and line. Everything else follows-including light, form, concepts personal beliefs and inspirations. For me, painting is a marriage between the mastery of those 'basic visual elements'; the discoveries and understanding of visual statements [the search for what is true on a personal level artistically]; and the trust in ones own wordless intuition and inspiration. Understanding gives rise to higher understanding. Working this way allows me to open the door to new ideas and inspirations. One day I may be interested in a color statement, and the next may be a relationship of simple shapes, and the next an extremely complex arrangement of texture and edges...With every painting there is a singular visual thought to be completed."
Quang Ho was born on April 30, 1963, in Hue, Vietnam. He Immigrated to the United States in 1975 and is now a U.S. Citizen. His artistic interest began at the early age of three and continued through grade school, high school, art school and led him to a very exciting and successful painting profession. In 1980, at the age of 16, Quang held his first one-man-show at Tomorrows Masters Gallery in Denver Colorado. In 1982, Quang's mother was killed in a tragic auto accident, leaving him the responsibility of raising four younger brothers and a six year old sister. That same year, Quang attended the Colorado Institute of Art on a National Scholastics Art Awards Scholarship. At CIA Quang studied painting under Rene Bruhin, whom Quang credits with developing the foundation for his artistic understanding. Ho graduated from CIA in 1985 with Best Portfolio Award for the graduating class.
Ho started his career in the art world as a highly successful freelance illustrator from 1985-1990. Ho's illustration works have been featured in the Illustrators Annual and exhibited at the Museum of American Illustrations; and the Communication Arts Illustrations Annual during those years.
His passion, however, was oil paintings and he found time to pursue those paintings along side of the illustrations. Those works were noticed by Saks Gallery in Denver and Ho was invited to hold his first solo show. The exhibit was a sold-out success and he went on to have many sell out shows the following years in Denver, Houston, San Francisco and London. Working mostly in oils and occasionally watercolor and pastels, Ho's subject matter ranges from still-life, landscapes, interiors, and dancers, to figuratives. "Subject matter is not really important to me. I can find visual excitement all around me as well as on the canvas - from a knot on a tree, graceful limp of a flower wilting, to a juxtaposition of a few simple shapes and colors...inspirations are inexhaustible."
Ho is much sought after to give lectures and workshops around the world. He has produced a number of teaching DVDs and is currently working on a book of his philosophy and work.

&nbsp;Raymond Bonilla is a nationally recognized illustrator and fine artist in Buffalo, NY. Raymond graduated from the State University in New York at Fredonia in 2005 with a degree in New Media and Illustration. He continued his studies at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco where he completed his Masters of Fine Art in 2009. He was awarded Best in Show in the Great Lakes Emerging Artist Competition, was a finalist in the Artists Magazine Annual Art Competition, has been awarded Gold Medals in advertising from both Society of Illustrators of New York and Los Angeles, and juried into the Communication Arts Illustration Annual. He currently lives in Buffalo, New York where he spends his time painting and teaching part-time at SmART School and Visual Arts Passage. He is represented by Principle Gallery in Alexandria,VA, Abend Gallery in Denver, CO and Meibohm Fine Arts Gallery in East Aurora, NY.&nbsp;

Richie Carter was born and raised just outside of Kalispell, Montana. &nbsp;Being brought up in a rural community of Northwest Montana, he developed an early sense of adventure and creativity, as one does when the woods are your only playground. &nbsp;As a child, if he didn't have a pencil or crayon in his hand, he was building or making the latest idea he could conjure up, from tree houses to paper m&acirc;ch&eacute; sculptures. &nbsp;As Richie moved through school, it soon became apparent that he had a knack for drawing and painting. &nbsp;His high school art classes served as an inspiring foundation to his fascination with realism and working from direct observation. &nbsp;Just like many artists of the field, he quickly became infatuated with the works of the Old Masters. And while obtaining his BFA in Painting from The University of Montana, he spent a year abroad in Northern France studying the language, culture, and the rich tradition of painting. &nbsp;Upon graduating in 2012, Richie has established his base once again in Kalispell where he works from his studio. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; ​ &nbsp; "When I am not in my studio working on large scale still life and landscape paintings, you can find me out on location gathering reference materials, from the backcountry of Montana, to the deserts of the South West, or on the cobbled streets of various European cities. &nbsp;I love to travel and meet people of different cultures, taking inspiration from a myriad of sources. &nbsp;Painting is a universal visual language that breaks down barriers, and I hope through my own work, it can serve to cultivate authentic human connection. &nbsp;My goal is to make impactful, striking, yet simplistic images that evoke emotion and allow a dialogue to take place between the rich tradition of realism and the contemporary reality of our time." &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;

Painting is not simply the passion of Scott Christensen, it&rsquo;s his necessity, like breathing. Mind and body attune, he moves through the process of creating each landscape just as a river flows over rocks, and around islands, all the while seeking a mellifluous whole. Obstacles of composition, color, and tone are transformed into opportunities with each stroke of his brush. Christensen&rsquo;s goal is to compose an aggregate vision of nature&rsquo;s beauty, while also delighting in the journey. &ldquo;The process alone,&rdquo; he says, &ldquo;is worth the effort.&rdquo;&nbsp;
After nearly three decades at the easel, Christensen is recognized around the globe, as evidenced by his invitation to show in Russia&rsquo;s Ilya Repin St. Petersburg State Academic Institute for Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture. His energy flows through his work, paintings that, in turn, move us, opening our eyes to the beauty of places as varied as the California coast at twilight, and the storied English countryside. They are luscious yet economical landscapes that beg to be explored.
In the absence of tradition, Winston Churchill said, &ldquo;art is a flock of sheep without a shepherd. Without innovation, it&rsquo;s a corpse.&rdquo; Christensen&rsquo;s work embodies both tradition and innovation. His singular vision is deeply informed by the masters. He has studied Isaac Levitan, Alphonse Mucha, and Joaquin Sorolla, among others, as well as Anders Zorn, whose luminous work inspired Christensen to adopt a similarly limited palette. Equally present in Christensen&rsquo;s work, though harder to detect, are the effects of literature, music, and football. His net is cast wide on account of his scholarly curiosity and uncommon past.&nbsp;
Born in 1962, Christensen grew up in Lander, Wyoming, a place of extreme geography and wild beauty. There his aesthetic developed. It was not until college, however, that he would recognize nature as his muse. The shift was precipitated by a personal catastrophe. While attending Chardon State in Nebraska on a football scholarship he sustained a severe neck injury. It left him unable to compete. Bereft, he sought solace in fly fishing and visiting his grandfather, a wheelchair-bound amateur oil painter. The scent of oils stirred Christensen&rsquo;s imagination, so he took a leap into the unknown and enrolled in art classes. He eventually earned a degree in art education, but chose to paint instead of teach. Now he does both.
Over the years he has pursued painting with the discipline he once brought to sports. The atypical combination of athleticism, scholarly curiosity, and an ardent desire to experience nature became the alchemy of his success. Although finished at the easel, most of his paintings begin as plein air studies. They end up in prestigious gallery and museum shows, as well as in major collections, like Prix de West and in the permanent collection of Grand Teton National Park&rsquo;s Craig Thomas Visitors' Center.&nbsp;
Meditate on a Christensen landscape, just as he did the place that inspired it. If it resonates with you, then he has succeeded as a conduit of nature&rsquo;s true expression. He hopes that you too will get outside and be uplifted by nature&rsquo;s beauty, but in lieu of that, his paintings will more than suffice.

Shari Lyon paints with a medium that is rarer than most other mediums &ndash;&ndash; encaustic.
Encaustic painting tends to be uncommon these days but it has a rich and ancient history. The medium dates back to the 5th century B.C. It is the process of painting with a mix of melted beeswax and damar resin. The result is a highly durable art form. Ancient Greeks used it on their ships as the beeswax is impervious to moisture. Shari, however, was drawn to it for a different reason.
She enjoys working in encaustic in part because of its link to the ancient world but she also finds that it is an exciting challenge for her type-A personality.
&ldquo;What challenges me the most is the dichotomy between being in control of the medium and letting the medium do what it does,&rdquo; she said.&nbsp;
Trees feature heavily in Shari&rsquo;s work. She is drawn to the symbolism of trees, which she believes cuts across all cultures and religions. Trees are stoic, grounded, healing, and lasting, and they are a calming and meaningful subject for Shari.
&ldquo;I call my pieces, not landscapes, but dreamscapes,&rdquo; she said. &ldquo;I like to create places that bring peace, balance, and serenity into your home.&rdquo;

Shari has been in shows from California to Illinois. She has been the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships. She has also been asked to curate shows with clients such as the Utah Department of Arts and Museums, Portrait Society of America, and Havenlight Art. Her work hangs across the nation, Canada, and Europe. &nbsp;
Shari's work has been widely published and she has been a guest on podcasts and received media coverage for her work.&nbsp;
Shari was raised in Arizona but now resides, sharing a studio with her artist husband, Howard Lyon, in Utah. She spends January through April in Scottsdale, Arizona participating in the Celebration of Fine Art.&nbsp;

Teresa Oaxaca is an American born artist based currently in Washington D.C. She is a full time painter whose works can be seen in collections and galleries throughout the US and internationally. Her talent has been recognized and rewarded by museums and institutions such as the American Museum of the Cowboy, The former Corcoran Gallery of Art, The Art Renewal Center, The Elisabeth Greenshields Foundation, the Posey Foundation, and The Portrait Society of America and the Museu Europeu D&rsquo;Art Modern in Barcelona.
Her training includes a four-year diploma at the Angel Academy of Art (Florence Italy, Graduate studies at the Florence Academy, an Apprenticeship with Odd Nerdrum in Norway, and studies at the Art League of Alexandria VA where she trained with Robert Liberace, Paul Lucchesi, and took many other courses. Currently she teaches workshops around the United States and in Europe.
In addition to her studio work she takes a variety of portrait commissions including Family Portraiture, Professional/Business, Custom and Informal arrangements. I work as a Concept Artist in film and video games. For the past few years I have worked as a Concept Artist on movies like The Lego Movie 2 and League of Super Pets. My name is Tiffanie Mang, and I am a digital artist and gouache landscape painter. I currently work as a visual development artist at Marvel Entertainment and as a curriculum mananger at Proko. I also love to teach and share my passion for art.&nbsp; I have taught a number of plein air gouache and digital workshops in California and internationally in Curacao and London.&nbsp; I also run my own digital and gouache painting mentorships, and have mentored over 30 students from all around the world, including Europe, Asia, Australia, and South America.&nbsp;
ARTIST STATEMENT:&nbsp;
I have always been fascinated with the way light reveals forms to create the most profound collaboration and symphony of color notes and shapes that we see in landscapes all around us. In my paintings, I seek to capture those stories I find in the shifting color and light through unique color palettes and bold brushstrokes. My goal is not to reiterate what I see onto a canvas; I strive to capture the energy, essence, and fleeting impression that the landscape embedded in me when I first laid eyes on the sight.

My name is Tim Rees, founder of Rees Atelier. While teaching at my atelier I recorded the curriculum, with lessons and demonstrations, on video for my students. &nbsp;When remote students requested an interest in the program, I wrote accompanying textbooks and now offer the comprehensive program for sale. &nbsp;I have been fortunate to teach portrait, figure, and landscape workshops around the world, though now I focus on painting more than teaching. I currently show my work in Arcadia Contemporary (NYC) and McLarry Fine Art (Santa Fe). &nbsp;
Through my subjects, primarily women and children, I pursue my fascination with color, light, and the application of paint to create a subtle yet dynamic view of our world. &nbsp;As Bouguereau once said, "Art defines the search for the ideal, first and foremost a vocation of reason. &nbsp;Through the visual, portray the intellectual."

Vikrant is best known for his watercolours. He paints with various styles, mediums and techniques adopting the best suitable feature to reproduce on paper what he sees in person. Vikrant has travelled and work in Europe. Where he worked under the guidance of renowned artist Mr. Alvaro Castagnet. He also successfully conducted watercolour workshops in France, Germany, Russia, Dubai &amp; India. He has been invited to demonstrate prestigious watercolor event called "InArteFabriano" in Italy, IWS Turkey Bienalle, Masters of Watercolor, Russia, IWS UAE Biennial. He is one of the invited artist for InWatercolor/Taiwan-Indian Watercolor Exchange in Taiwan and several international shows. He is former chairman of 'The Art Society of India'. He is brand ambassador of Russian paint brand 'WHITE NIGHTS' Nevskaya Palitra. His works has been published in several prestigious international publications.

Over the past 10 years I like to think I've developed an individual style of narrative painting.
My paintings are snapshots of moments in time, often idealised and always entirely staged using my friends and family as models. I see myself as the director, shaping my chosen scene until I am happy and then using this as a groundwork to start painting. My focus is on structure and gesture, colour and composition and always seeing the paint at work when you get close
 My work is in a number of private collections across the world, including Hollywood film makers, famous musiciains and high profile figures in the worlds of journalism and politics.&nbsp;

 My paints are made by hand, using techniques that date back to the days of the Old Masters. There is a very simple reason for this painstaking process. As an artist and painter, I wanted to create colours that were true and vibrant, and paint which was beautiful and durable.
&nbsp;
Uncompromising quality
 The greater the pigment content of a paint the greater the resistance it has to fading. Nearly all manufacturers use various fillers to extend the volume of the oil paint &mdash; it may increase profits, but compromises on quality. I refuse to do this &mdash; why make something exceptional and then dilute it?
I make my paints using techniques which date back to the days of the old Masters. There is a straightforward reason for this steady process. As an artist and a painter, I want to create colours that are true and vibrant as well as beautiful and durable.

I do not claim that my paints will turn you into a great master, but I can promise they will have a profound effect on your work. Your colours will be more durable, more vibrant and more abundant. I make my Artist Oil Paints with colour intensities that artists experienced before the 1840s. This was when the invention of the collapsible tube led to mass production and gradual dilution of quality. Mass-produced paints of today are pale imitations of the colours that artists before the 1840s were able to either make themselves or purchase from a colour man. The main criteria of these colourmen were the quality of the paint and not undercutting the competition. &nbsp;
For over 160 years there has been a steady decline and serious lack of interest in the true nature and potential of the remarkable Oil Paint medium. The result is that very few artists have an understanding of how to paint a picture that will not deteriorate over time.
The majority of artists who try my paints for the first time are shocked to realise they had previously been painting with muted colours &ndash; this raises questions as to the permanence of their previous works.&nbsp;
I can say with complete confidence that not only will an artist&rsquo;s work last longer, but they will enjoy a much greater empathy with their paint. Michael believes the artist should respond passionately to the materials with which they work.
